Description
The Red Centre of Australia is ancient land.
The cliffs and rocky outcrops in Rainbow Valley are composed of 350 million year old iron-rich sandstone in various stages of erosion, creating coloured bands in the rock layers.
The Upper Southern Arrernte people know this place as WURRE – a bushtucker dreaming site and an important ceremony place.
Today, as a plein-air artist I am gifted a window in time, to absorb the essence of it.
