Cloudless sky - and at 10am I set off to paint. I survey the Bryggen from both ends and from across the harbour - finally settling for the small Grieg Square, with its beautifully lithe fountain figure, as my roost. My painting flows - two narrow verticals speaking of the low key but cosmopolitan atmosphere of this historic trading port.
